After settling in, your host family will introduce you to their daily routine and show you around the homestead livestock pens, the family ger, and surrounding pasturelands. As evening approaches, gather inside the family ger for a home-cooked Mongolian dinner, prepared with fresh local ingredients. Enjoy warm hospitality, conversations, and perhaps a taste of suutei tsai (milk tea). After dinner, you can relax under a sky full of stars—clear, bright, and endless above the remote steppe. DAY 4 | LIVING WITH HERDER FAMILY (First Immersive Experience)

Wake up to the soft sounds of the Mongolian steppe and enjoy a traditional breakfast prepared by your host family. Today is a full day immersed in the rhythm of nomadic life, offering a rare opportunity to experience firsthand how families live in harmony with nature. You will spend the day helping with daily chores such as herding livestock, milking cows and goats, or gathering firewood. Your host family may also demonstrate traditional skills like felt-making, dairy preparation, or horse grooming, giving you insight into centuries-old nomadic practices. You can also take part in horseback riding, exploring the surrounding grasslands and hills as the nomads do. In the evening, return to the ger for a home-cooked Mongolian dinner, often featuring local meat and dairy specialties. As night falls, enjoy the incredible clarity of the star-filled sky, a rare experience far from city lights. Overnight: Nomadic family ger stay

DAY 5 | LIVING WITH HERDER FAMILY (First Immersive Experience)

After breakfast with your nomadic host family, begin your day with a scenic drive toward the Khorgo–Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake National Park, one of Central Mongolia’s most stunning natural landscapes. As you travel, enjoy views of volcanic valleys, wide-open grasslands, and grazing livestock—a true picture of rural Mongolia. After exploring the area, enjoy a picnic lunch in nature before returning to the nomadic family’s home in the afternoon. Upon arrival, experience more aspects of daily herder life—milking livestock, collecting water, preparing traditional dairy products, or learning how to maintain a ger. As evening settles, share a warm home-cooked dinner with the family and enjoy quiet time under a sky filled with stars before resting in your cozy guest ger.

DAY 6 | ELSEN TASARKHAI

After breakfast and a warm farewell to your host family, begin your journey south toward Elsen Tasarkhai, a unique stretch of sand dunes often called the “Little Gobi.” The drive takes you through beautiful countryside—rolling hills, open valleys, and scattered herder settlements—offering one last look at the peaceful rhythm of nomadic life. In the afternoon, meet a local camel-herding family and experience a camel riding adventure through the golden sands. Gentle Bactrian camels will carry you across the dunes as you enjoy sweeping views and take in the quiet beauty of the area. Your guide will share stories about camel husbandry, desert traditions, and the importance of these strong animals in nomadic culture. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the ger camp and watch the sunset cast warm colors over the sands before resting in your comfortable ger for the night.
